This policy explains what personal data ThinkFern collects when you visit thinkfern.org or contact us, why we collect it, how long we keep it and the choices you have. We keep it short and specific, and we only collect what we need to reply to you and run this website securely.
Who we are
ThinkFern is a digital agency based in Pakistan that designs and builds websites, online stores and mobile apps, and provides SEO, advertising, social media, branding and AI automation services. ThinkFern is the controller of the personal data described in this policy.

What we collect and why
When you send our contact form
We collect your name, email address, phone or WhatsApp number (optional), the service you are interested in and your message. We use this information only to reply to your enquiry, prepare a proposal if you ask for one and keep a record of our conversation.
When you submit the form, we also send you an automatic confirmation email so you know your message arrived.
When you email us or message us on WhatsApp
We receive whatever you choose to share, usually your name, contact details and project information, and use it to respond and to work with you. WhatsApp is a service operated by Meta; when you click a WhatsApp link on our site, your conversation is also handled under WhatsApp’s privacy policy.
When you browse the website
Like every website, our hosting servers automatically process technical information needed to deliver pages to you, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested. We use this only to operate, secure and troubleshoot the website.
To protect the site from attacks and spam, we record the IP address and time of repeated failed login attempts and of contact-form submissions that our filters block as spam. These security records are not used for any other purpose.
Our legal bases
Where data protection laws such as the UK GDPR or the EU GDPR apply, we rely on:
- Taking steps at your request before entering into a contract: replying to your enquiry and preparing a quote.
- Legitimate interests: running, securing and improving our website, keeping records of business communications and preventing spam and abuse.
- Consent: where we ask for it, for example if we add analytics in the future. You can withdraw consent at any time.
Cookies and similar technologies
We do not use advertising or analytics cookies on this website at the moment.
- Our WhatsApp chat button uses your browser’s session storage to remember that you closed its message, so it does not appear again during your visit. Nothing is stored after you close the browser tab.
- The embedded Google Map on our contact page is provided by Google, which may set its own cookies and receive your IP address when the map loads. See Google’s privacy policy.
- Our website fonts are delivered by Google Fonts, which receives your IP address when the fonts load.
If we introduce analytics or advertising tools, we will update this policy first and ask for your consent where the law requires it.
Who we share data with
We never sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers that help us run our business, under their own security and privacy commitments:
- Spaceship (EasyWP): website hosting, including the database where contact-form enquiries are stored.
- Spacemail by Spaceship: our business email, used to send and receive enquiry emails.
- Google: Google Fonts and the embedded Google Map.
- Meta (WhatsApp): only when you choose to contact us on WhatsApp.
If you become a client, we may use additional tools to deliver your project, such as design, hosting or project-management software; we will tell you which ones as part of the project.
We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights, our clients or the public.
International transfers
We are based in Pakistan and our service providers may store or process data in other countries, including the United States and countries in Europe. Where UK or EU data protection law applies, we rely on our providers’ standard safeguards, such as Standard Contractual Clauses, for these transfers.
How long we keep your data
- Enquiries that do not lead to a project: up to 24 months, then deleted.
- Client communications and project records: for the duration of our work together and as long as needed afterwards for legal, tax and accounting purposes.
- Email delivery logs: kept for a short period to make sure messages are delivered, then removed.
- Security records: only the most recent entries are kept, on a rolling basis.
How we protect your data
The website runs entirely over HTTPS. Access to the site is restricted to authorised administrators, with login protection and two-factor authentication available. Our email is authenticated with SPF, DKIM and DMARC, and we take regular, verified backups that are stored securely.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you and receive a copy;
- ask us to correct inaccurate data or complete incomplete data;
- ask us to delete your data;
- object to or ask us to restrict how we use it;
- receive your data in a portable format;
- withdraw consent where we rely on it.
To use any of these rights, email hello@thinkfern.org. We will reply within one month. If you are in the UK or the EU and are unhappy with how we handled your data, you can also complain to your data protection authority, for example the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) in the UK or the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos (AEPD) in Spain.
Children
Our website and services are intended for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16.

Our case studies link to our clients’ websites and to other services. We are not responsible for how those websites handle your data, so please read their privacy policies.
